Divemaster

The IANTD, PADI, and SDI Divemaster courses are the first professional level ratings IANTD, PADI, or SDI scuba divers can achieve. As a Divemaster for either agency, you take it beyond the Rescue Diver level and in addition to looking beyond yourself to consider the safety and well-being of other divers, you make it your responsibility. This course consists of self-study, classroom sessions, confined water sessions, projects, and open water dives. Each Divemaster course is scheduled independently with the students. Due to the time commitment involved, we do not offer regularly scheduled courses. If you are interested in taking the course, contact us for the scheduling possibilities.

Our Divemaster course is a demanding course. You will be required to do a lot of self study and skills practice beyond what you schedule with us. Attending the classroom and pool sessions isn’t enough.

Once you complete this course you will be able to:

1. Assist either IANTD, PADI, or SDI Instructors with scuba classes (depending on which agency you choose to certify through)
2. Lead Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
3. Conduct Discover Local Diving orientations
4. There are other activities you can conduct dependent on the agency you choose to train through.
This course will teach you dive leadership skills. You will be required to complete a series of waterskills and stamina exercises in confined and open water environments. You will also be required to map a dive site, demonstrate the ability to solve unanticipated problems underwater, and conduct an actual class under the supervision of a IANTD, PADI, or SDI Instructor. You will also participate in an internship with Chipola Divers prior to the completion of the course.

Prerequisites for the IANTD Divemaster course are IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver or Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver, First Aid, CPR, Oxygen Provider, and Rescue Diver. You must have a minimum of 60 logged dives prior to the course. And it is recommended you are qualified in two optional IANTD Specialty Programs.

Prerequisites for the PADI Divemaster course are Rescue Diver or equivalent and 20 logged dives. You must have a minimum of 60 logged dives to complete the course.

Prerequisites for the SDI Divemaster course are Advanced Diver and Rescue Diver (or equivalent), Current First Aid and Current CPR. You must have a minimum of 40 logged dives to begin the course.
